Why Go to Church?

Jesus said: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”  – Matthew 11:28

  • To receive comfort and rest through Jesus. We see the works of God all around us in nature. But even His wonderful creation can’t speak to us about the way to heaven.  That way is only found through faith in God’s Son, Jesus.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God – Romans 10:17

  • To find God’s forgiveness. The idea of personal sin and guilt before God has gone out of style in our day. Yet the Bible—and our own consciences—agree that we are not right with God as we are.  “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus – Romans 3:23-24
  • God tells us that He shares the message of salvation through His Word. Therefore, to be saved, we must hear and listen!

“Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools…” – Ecclesiastes 5:1

“This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?” – Galatians 3:2-3

  • For mutual support in faith. Jesus will come again soon, and we need to be prepared!

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” – Hebrews 10:25

We invite you to join us at Redemption to hear God’s Word!
